Interview with NEWTYME ENT. President Ms. Carry

Who is Ms. Carry?
I am an ambitious woman with goals and dreams. I am a boss lady, a hustlette (female hustler), I work hard and I grind for what I want. I actually started out writing, I've been writing since I was around 12 or 13 years old. I had been writing for so long, people started telling me I needed to let people hear it, so hear I am. Letting people know about the life of everyday women. I rap for the single mothers, hardworking women and just our everyday lives. Men need to know what goes on in our head and i'm a represent us to the end.

When you say you are the boss lady, what do you mean?
I'm the president of NEWTYME ENT., meaning I call the shots and i'm the boss. There aren't a lot of women especially rappers who have started with their own business. I just want to show women that they can be their own boss and make their own destiny. It's ok to have a partner but be your own boss.

What are you current project are you working on right now?
Well, right now I'm working on my first mixtape called Patiently Waiting, i'm networking with many producers from the DC Area as well as artist. I also have been doing some open mic events and hosting at Club Axum in Washington DC and in the process of getting more gigs further out the area like Baltimore, Virginia

What does the future hold for Ms. Carry?
Like I said, i'm working on my mixtape right now. I also have a new artist, his name is Dough Boy.  He is a feature artist on my mixtape. We did this song using Soulja Boy Tell Em beat, the song is called Party at my Suite. I have a show Sept. 24th in Baltimore and one in Ohio set for the end of October (date TBA). I'm going to be traveling more out of state to get more exposure.  I gotta just keep grinding until i'm to the top. The job is never over so everybody will definitely see more of Ms. Carry.

Can Halle Berry play The Queen of Soul?

The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin has decided to turn her New York Times Best-Selling Autobiography Aretha: These Roots into a feature film. The Queen has spoken, and has negotiated to have some of  the biggest names in black Hollywood to star in her highly anticipated biopic.
According to Black Voices Newswire, Aretha Franklin has been quietly meeting with today's leading black actors and actresses, including Denzel Washington and Terence Howard.
Denzel Washington told Franklin he's open to playing the role of Franklin's father, Rev. C.L. Franklin. Oscar-nominated Terrence Howard agreed to portray her dear friend and former Miracles front man, Smokey Robinson. Nia Long is being asked to play the Presidential Medal of Freedom honoree's sister, Erma Franklin, and she wants heartthrob Blair Underwood on board to play her brother and longtime manager, Cecil Franklin.

The 18-time Grammy Award winner says, "These actors are enthusiastic about the project and have agreed to take on these roles subject to further negotiation."

Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry has been the Queen of Soul's top pick to play her younger self. Halle Berry's outstanding performance in the portrayal of famed actress Dorothy Dandridge in 'Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, leading her to win an Emmy and the Golden Globe Award.

Franklin has also seek out the best in gospel music to take on the roles of members of the world-renowned gospel group, the Ward Singers. Karen Clark Sheard and LaShun Pace are being asked to portray the women who most influenced Franklin's career.

Other potential actors for the film:
  • Mo’Nique
  • Gabourey Sidibe
  • S. Epatha Merkerson
  • Jennifer Hudson
  • Fantasia
  • Lisa Nicole Carson

I think these are some great actors to play the roles of Franklin's camp but I'm not sure about Halle Berry. She is a wonderful actor but I think this role s more fitting for someone like Queen Latifah. She has been dominating lately in the box office and this role has her name written all over it.

Re-makes and Predictions

Why are almost all of the directors re-making old films? Where has the talent gone? I mean with the re-make of Halloween 1 & 2, Nightmare on Elm Street, and many more, it's becoming tired. I'm tired of seeing movies being re-made and they aren't even better than the original.  Not only are the movies being re-made but they're so predictive. I'm tired of every movie I watch, I know the outcome. Don't get me wrong there are films that I enjoy but there are even more that I can predict the outcome of the movie. Does anybody agree or do you think I'm hating. Let me know!
